Users accounts not moving to additional local backup directory

Hi,

I'm trying to use an additional local backup directory but only system files are moving there.

In main backup settings, user accounts are selected but in additional local backup settings, I can't see such an option.

Can you help?

    Hey there!  Inside the backup log (likely the most recent filename in /usr/local/cpanel/logs/cpbackup/) you should see a line similar to this that references the additional local destination for the cPanel accounts:

    [2024-03-04 11:09:19 -0500] info [backup] Queuing daily backup copy of “username” for transport of “/backup/2024-03-04/accounts/username.tar.gz” to “other/local/destination/2024-03-04/accounts/amps.tar.gz”

    Do you see that entry in the log file?  If not, does it show anything else after the initial local backup is complete?

    I don't think the cpbackup_transporter log gets used when the transfer is local - at least it did not on my test I did earlier today.

    We may need to see a ticket on this to determine why this isn't working properly since the logs don't seem to be telling us much.

    Anyways, I open ticked in Leaseweb support, since I cant directly open ticked in cPanel.

    I do see that LeaseWeb contacted us and we were able to identify an issue where the local disk also has to be compatible with rsync, so network partitions will not work properly.  We opened case CPANEL-43905 for our developers to work on this, although the fix will likely not be to get the backups working but to make the error more human-friendly for users so they are aware of what the ultimate issue is.
