CloudLinux recommend for WP Squared ?
I'm following with interest the announcement by WebPro of their new "WP Squared" software
https://webpros.com/partners/high-performance-wordpress-management-with-wp-squared/
https://wpsquared.com/
Of course people will get on board with WP Squared only if/when they are satisfied that it's offering sufficient value-for-money relative to whatever setup they currently have.
I'd like to see a detailed review by WebPros and/or an unbiased 3rd party to recommend what software (e.g. WordPress plugins) that WP Squared is positioned to replace, make redundant, fully, or partially.
I'm a big fan of less-is-more, especially when it comes to tech. So if WP Squared can replace multiple other software items/plugins (free or paid) - I'm listening.
One big initial question I have is whether or not it's recommended to be running CloudLinux with WP Squared for shared (multi-tenant) hosting. Clearly WP Squared is intended for the support/management of multiple WordPress sites on the same server, and CloudLinux is optimised for shared servers, so I assume the answer to this question is "Yes".
But CloudLinux Manager comes complete with lots of "goodies" like AccelerateWP, Smart Advice, X-Ray, Website monitoring, etc. So I wonder to what extent we might be doubling-up to go with CL and WP Squared?
I look forward to the conversation!

A-ha! I've just spotted this: https://wpsquared.com/#pricing

Hey there! Yes, it runs on top of CloudLinux and is a requirement of using WP Squared - let me know if you have any other questions!

I've contacted your sales department for more info. I'd like a demo.
Looks like there's no bundling with cPanel licenses?0 -
Correct - these are a completely separate license type.

So, WP-Squared is a completely separate management system than cPanel, nothing to do with cPanel? It's standalone and intended to serve solely Wordpress sites -- leveraging Cloudlinux and features within CloudLinux to speed up Wordpress sites? No email or anything else. Do I have that right?
0 -
That's exactly correct! While based on cPanel (there is a WHM login) it has limited functionality but increased performance specific to hosting WordPress sites.

Strangely no trial version, and only a 72-hour refund policy, I'm told by cPanel.
Should be a 14 or 30 day money back guarantee. Or a free trial period.
A very strange sales technique IMHO, especially for a very new product.

You're welcome to ask for a Beta license as those will be active until July 1. I believe it's due to the nature of the product involving multiple entities that we aren't able to offer a longer trial period.
If you'd like to contact our team about that Beta, please message adam.wien@webpros.com for more details.

Thx.

Sure thing!

How much is the cost per website for cPanel Partner? Retail is $0.40 and $84.99 for the base product.
As the cost is $64.99 for the base product for cPanel Partner, I guess the cost per additional website above ten websites is less than $0.40.

The Partner price for the additional cPanel accounts is $0.25.

Interesting that WP Squared doesn't have more access to cPanel core features like DNS clusting, configuration node, and email node, etc.
Why not have all this available? We use ALL of these services now and WP Squared would be a downgrade for us.

WebJIVE - DNS clustering is available on WP Squared, as is configuration cluster. You should see them when searching the options list in either the left or top search bar.

Thanks. No email nodes?
0 -
Currently there are no linked nodes available in that product.

Does it come with support? If so can you assist with optimization if performance is not adequate? (as this is one of the major feature of the product:) )
0 -
Andrew if you buy the license directly from cPanel, yes, they provide support per this thread. :)
0 -
and optimization?:)
-1 -
Andrew cPanel has never offered optimization services, just support for problems
0 -
Right - "optimization" is subjective - while we're happy to look and give advice, we aren't going to be tuning servers for people.

Approx when will WPSquared be bundled with CloudLinux 9.x, instead of CloudLinux 8.x?

I poked the team and at this time they couldn't give me any ETA on when that change will happen, so I don't have anything to share just yet.
