1 Unexpected PTR value exists for this IP address:
Hi! I contacted my VPS provider and they setup my rDNS to my hostname:
my nslookup:
***.**.***.172.in-addr.arpa name = my hostname
Now I'm facing this rDNS issue in Email Deliverability:
I already changed from host.colocrossing, and I don't want to use suggested records. I want it to match my hostname, any tips? Thank you.
The system sends “sa****.co”’s outgoing email from the “172.***.***” IP address. The only PTR value for this IP address must be “172-***-***-***-host.colocrossing.com”. This is the name that this server sends with SMTP’s “HELO” command to send “sa****”’s outgoing email.

- My hostname
To fix this problem, contact your system administrator and request that they replace all PTR records for “***.***.***.172.in-addr.arpa” with the following record at “ns1.colocrossing.com” and “ns2.colocrossing.com”:
Name: ***.**.***.172.in-addr.arpa.
Value: 172-***-**-***-host.colocrossing.com.

First ensure your hostname is set properly on the server under Change hostname. Second verify that the PTR record (rDNS) has been set correctly from your computer in command line by executing this:
nslookup "IP" (replace IP with your server IP address)
This should return your hostname and not "172-***-**-***-host.colocrossing.com."
