Are you able to connect to your FTP server from the cPanel server via SSH? (Login as root and use the "ftp" command to connect manually).

Yes. I was able to connect via ssh without any problems and list the folder. I even transferred files mutually using put and get without any problems.

In this case configure the FTP destination and force a backup via SSH as root:

    /usr/local/cpanel/bin/backup --force

    then monitor the log file

In this case, will I need to backup constantly this way, not with cron?

No, that is just the manual command to call the automated backup process as a test - the automated backups will still run normally.

    /usr/local/cpanel/bin/backup --force
The server took the backup with the command. When I examine the log file, there is no line regarding ftp. Since the ftp account is not enabled in the Additional Destinations, I think the server has not even made a connection.

There are separate log files for the remote connection.  These would be located in /usr/local/cpanel/logs/cpbackup_transporter so you'd want to check that area to see if it started a transfer session.

I am sad. The log file contains only drive-related logs. There is no record of even failed ftp connections.

It would likely be best to open a ticket with our team so we can take a look at the system for you.
