Upgrade 20.04 to 22.04
Good Morning,
We are currently running cPanel version 118.0.5 on Ubuntu 20.04.6. I just received an alert saying we can't upgrade to cPanel 120 on Ubuntu 20. Is it okay to upgrade Ubuntu in place to 22 without completely reloading or re-configuring cPanel?
I did a quick search here and on Google. But, I couldn't find any advice relating to cPanel and the upgrade of Ubuntu 20 to 22.
Thanks,
Bobby

Short term it's get a new server and use the transfer tool to migrate.

We're also curious about this, as it would replace the forklift upgrades we have to do CentOS/AlmaLinux.

As of this exact point in time, we aren't recommending people try any OS upgrades. If you want to give it a shot in a test environment, feel free!

And with no disrespect, that's about what we expected to hear. cPanel on Ubuntu is too "young" to expect distro upgrades to work.

I will say, we do have this on the roadmap for later this year:
https://features.cpanel.net/c/88-elevate-ubuntu-20-04-to-22-04
although I have no more specific ETA than just "later"
