The conclusion is that there is a problem with the cloudflare proxy. I opened a ticket with cloudflare for them to check, I'm waiting for them to respond.

Hey there!  I'm not sure there's a way to do that - each of those URLs makes a different type of connection to the server, so redirecting one to another could lead to odd behavior.  This is especially true if you have WHM >> Tweak Settings "Choose the closest matched domain for which that the system has a valid certificate when redirecting from non-SSL to SSL URLs. Formerly known as “Always redirect to SSL/TLS” enabled, which you should, as that will always present the user with an SSL-secured conneciton.

Since version 120 of cPanel, when a domain is configured to use cloudflare, it is no longer possible to access webmail through port 2096 from that domain. So I need to redirect to the webmail.domain.tld subdomain where I can disable the cloudflare proxy.

I am not able to reproduce that behavior with a test domain at Cloudflare, and I'm also not aware of any changes to the product that would affect webmail specifically in version 120.  It sounds like this is an isolated incident with your network or system.  Could you open a ticket so we can check this out?

I forgot to mention, but the timeout error occurs after logging in and trying to open roundcube.

UPDATE - our team is tracking this behavior through case CPANEL-44118 and I'll be sure to post an update here once I have more details.

    Hi cPRex!

In the ticket I opened with cloudflare they go into technical details about the TCP connection that I'm not used to in my daily life. It would be very productive if cPanel engineers could deal directly with Cloudflare engineers as they speak the same language. Do you agree? How can we make this happen?

Since cPanel doesn't provide support for Cloudflare, there isn't a way for us to interact directly with them.

    Hi cPRex!

To help resolve the issue, I would have to add a specific new field to the logs in /usr/local/cpanel/logs/access_log
It is possible? It's the CF-ray http header

This wouldn't get added to the cPanel log, but to the Apache log on the system.  Details on how to adjust that can be found here:
