cPanel & WHM version (11.110.0.33) will reach End of Life in 30 days
Any help on how to update cPanel to a newer version?
We are with OVH barebone dedicated server. OVH says go to cPanel and cPanel says go to OVH as cPanel license is provided with OVH.
What will happen on 30 June 2024 EOL:
- Our website will come to a screeching halt?
- cPanel & WHM will not work?
- cPanel will work, but support is not there?

Hey there! Your system will continue to work just as it is, although it won't receive security updates. We have created a plan for users that aren't able to migrate their system, which you can find more details in our blog post here:

Your best option would be to migrate to a newer server.

Okay, just to be as clear as possible, I have a customer that has more than 40 developments working in php56, he needs more time for the redevelop of his systems. If I'm understanding correctly, TUXCARE will provide support for centos 7 (for a small fee) and cpanel will keep supporting cpanel 110, both until January 2026. Am I correct?
Will the extended support for cpanel 110 have an extra fee additional of that of TuxCare's one? I so, how much?

That's exactly correct - the additional fee *is* for the Tuxcare addon, not just for cPanel itself.

My next question is, which OS has the longest support from cPanel or vice versa?
As changing OS, servers every 1 or 2 years is highly impractical and I wanna explore long term options. Please advise.

As far as I read the announcements, you don't have to do anything. You will just get the updates and you'll pay whomever you are paying your cPanel license.

The link has been fixed again - apparently I was very bad at copy paste.
Let's clear a few things up:
You do *not* have to opt-in to this program. If your server is CentOS 7 and you have a valid cPanel license, that opts you in automatically. The only option is to opt-out by upgrading or migrating to a new system.
Your license qualifies if you have a CentOS 7 machine with cPanel.
You don't need to make an additional payment - this will just be added to your existing license payment.

So, here's a couple more semi paranoid questions:By enrolling in the program:
1) Will any changes be made to centos 7 that could result in it not supporting php56 / mysql5.7?
2) Will any changes be made to cPanel 110 that could result in php56 / mysql5.7 stop working?

No need to apologize - I completely understand!
There are currently no plans to make any changes to the software on the machine, as development for that OS has essentially stopped. The ELS plan is simply to provide security updates to the system for users until they are able to upgrade or migrate to a new system.

ELS is for both CentOS 7 and CloudLinux 7 only.

Hi!In my case, when I enter WHM to want to perform the update (I have CentOS7) I get an error that my OS is not compatible with the new version of WHM. However, in the configuration options I cannot find how to update or change the OS.Do you know where I can update the OS first or is there a manual on how to do it on the WHM portal?Thank you

Admin TI - since you are using CentOS 7 you could try the cPanel ELevate tool (https://cpanel.github.io/elevate/) or you can migrate you content to a new server.

Hello cPRex, was asking my provider (hivelocity) about how will they handle the charge of the extra fee and this is the response I got:
"Good afternoon Luis,
As our licenses don't have that type of support, the only option for the servers you have that are running Cent7 currently would be to move to new servers. "0 -
Luis Falcon - I'll see if I can get more details on my end about that, but if your host is telling you that's not an option that is likely the final word - they would know how they are handling their own licenses better than I would :D

Thank you cPRex, I just received a response from them, they are going to charge the extra fee and let the servers move into the ELS, however, their support team is going to stop support for centos 7 on their dedicated business, which is ok since this is only temporary, for us at least.

Like Luis Falcon above, I have clients that need php56. I have no issue with the extra fee for TuxCare. But, I have no idea how get the system into the ELS program.
I have set, a long time ago as I knew the clients wouldn’t be ready, the LTS as 110, but now the server(s) show this:
Installed Version:
110.0.35Tier Currently Description
LTS 118.0.13And nightly maintenance says:
"Could not resolve host: mirrorlist.centos.org; Name or service not known"
What do?

Redhat seems to have removed the centos 7 repos, a solution is being sought for this issue.
