Problems viewing webalizer stats

I am trying to set up a weblink to see stats on one of my websites.  I have followed the directions to add the correct folder and password protect it.  I even had my hosting service assist (namecheap) but I can't get to the stats link.  Namecheap advised me of the following.  I have no idea what this means but they will not assist me any further.  Can anyone help me with this?

The rule suggested by cPanel seems to work correctly without index.php-based rewrites, however, the symlink does not work correctly with Apache-level password authentication when the redirect in question matches the URL.

To enable access to stats without authentication, you can remove the file tmp/webalizer/.htaccess

  I tried removing the file from tmp but that did not solve the problem. Still says page not found

  Hey there!  Can you tell me more about this link you're trying to create?  I'm not completely sure I understand what you're trying to configure.
