cPanel error sub domaine ??
Hello, I am supporting several customers who have accounts with the hosting provider o2switch (france) which offers its customers administration via cPanel.
I found an error on one of the customer accounts.
In subdomain management, I find subdomains that should not appear (see the attached screenshot).
Why do I have the wrong subdomains?
For example:
(domain-name)com.lkja6051.odns.fr which is a domain name (domain-name).com
Why does this appear and what should I do as I find this problem only on this cpanel account and not on the other customer accounts.
I'm not happy with the response from the host:
"These are not fake subdomains, but system subdomains that are necessary for your domain to function properly on the hosting. Just ignore them.
But I don't find this problem on all the other client accounts I manage...
So why on this account? It doesn't seem logical to me.
Do you have any suggestions, ideas, solutions?
Or comments that I could submit to the host?
Thank you for your help and explanations.
Best regards, Thierry

Hey there! Can you let me know in what way they are fake? Do you not have any addon domains that use the same name?

Yes, I did find it. It comes from domain names that are automatically created under subdomains. But why does it only appear on one account, when it doesn't appear on all my customers' other accounts?

It is possible the other accounts just haven't created addon domains? These only appear if the cPanel user has the ability to create addon domains (which can be restricted in their package) and they have created them.

Yes, I just checked on another client account that has multiple domains added.
It seems random because on this verified cPanel, there are 3 domain names and only one has created a sub-domain with the server name as an extension... Whereas on the first cPanel account, all three domains have created these sub-domains...
I'm trying to understand.
But despite my lack of understanding, everything's working fine... Except for this customer who asks me for an explanation and sees it as an error.

Could you submit a ticket so the server can be examined?

No I can’t because I’m not the heberger but o2switch in France. I am just the web developer who takes care of about ten clients of this host who have contracts using the cpanel. It would be up to him to create a ticket but on his side he does not seem more worried about it and finds it normal as long as it works… What can I do? Apart from looking for coherent explanations. :-)

I don't have any other explanation besides they were either manually created or they are part of addon domains.

I also wonder why on one hosting account I have three domains and only one system subdomain, whereas on another hosting account I have four domains and four system subdomains. The question isn't clear, and neither is the solution. I think it would have been helpful to have an option to disable the display of these system subdomains to avoid alarming an average client. Thank you for your help. Have a great day, and I'll close this ticket now. Thanks again.
