Setting up a virtual machine on Azure
I am trying to deploy a VM in Azure from the WHM/Cpanel images available in the Azure market place. The deployment fails if I select the server health monitor extension, or any security related extension. The Azure virtual machine agent is required for extensions. The Azure Linux agent is also required to receive automatic updates to the operating system running on the VM.
I am looking for guidance. Should I get the Azure agent running on the virtual machine? If so, how have other people accomplished this? Is this duplicating activities performed by WHM? I am primarily concerned about security and making sure that security updates/patches get pushed out to the server timely.

Hey there! I spoke with our team that creates those server images and they confirmed they only test with a default configuration and not any addons. They have opened case ZC-12029 to check the security extensions in Azure to see if this is something we can resolve, but at this time if you need to use Azure it is best to deploy cPanel with no other packages or tools.
