cPanel & WHM update failure in upcp script
This is a new server which was only provisioned a month ago and it's not able to complete an update. The error is:
[2024-08-15 00:42:03 +1000] [/usr/local/cpanel/scripts/check_plugin_pkgs] dell-system-update_independent 0.0 B/s | 0 B 08:00

The repository is at:
baseurl=https://linux.dell.com/repo/hardware/latest/os_independent/
I have no idea how to diagnose this issue or whether I should be sending this error to my hosting provider (given that it is a hardware related repository and they've just configured this server).

That repo is specifically for the hardware you are renting (it's a Dell repo) so your provider most likely will need to assist. The file it's trying to grab exists: https://linux.dell.com/repo/hardware/latest/os_independent/repodata/repomd.xml so it may be a DNS or firewall issues.

Strange. I can access that URL from the server using Lynx. If it fails again tonight I'll raise a ticket with the server provider.
Thanks.

I had another customer talking in Discord about how the Dell repos have been down intermittently over the last week, so you're not alone in this error. Unfortunately there isn't anything we can do for this on the cPanel side of things, though.

Thanks for the heads up. Looking at last night's log it managed to do the Dell updates last night and then failed on another.

I would say so - this is an error with alt-php so that's from the CloudLinux repos, which are known for being a bit weird at times.

I get this same error on a cPanel DNS cluster box - with nothing else installed. Its not on dell hardware either.

slim - can you post the exact error message that you're receiving so I can review that?
