PTR Record issue
I have whm/cpanel installed on my server. I have changed the hostname to samba.example.com.It got changed.
I am using hertzner cloud server so their ptr record is following:
static.185.186.08.78.clients.your-server.de (just demo ip)
When I check under the Emai Deliverability in WHM it shows issue as:
The system sends “samba.example.com”’s outgoing email from the “185.186.08.78” IP address. The only PTR value for this IP address must be “samba.example.com”. This is the name that this server sends with SMTP’s “HELO” command to send “samba.example.com”’s outgoing email.
1 unexpected PTR value exists for this IP address:
- static.185.186.08.78.clients.your-server.de
To fix this problem, replace all PTR records for “185.186.08.78.in-addr.arpa” with the following record at “ns.second-ns.com”, “ns1.your-server.de”, and “ns3.second-ns.de”:

Simply I could change ptr in hertzner but it is not the case. I still want to use static.185.186.08.78.clients.your-server.de as my PTR.
So I am asking for the solution. In past too, I have solve it anyhow. but not having idea now.

More than likely hertzner will have to change the PTR for you, unless they give you a way to do it via their systems.

ffeingol I want to keep samba.example.com as my hostname for the server.
But I want to keep the same ptr as provided by hertzner as my ptr record. that is .static.185.186.08.78.clients.your-server.deWhy I am doing this?
=> I have seen other provider out there who are doing the similar things.I have tried this previously in my life but it seems to be not working now.

i.e. change the settings in Exim Configuration Manager, and then in /etc/mailhelo:
