Changed website to squarespace and emails are not working

Hello, I just renewed our website using squarespace but wanted to keep the hosting and emails on cpanel. I just added the new CNAME on the DNS on cpanel, but now we are not receiving any emails. I cannot even access my account on cpanel... I need to get back our emails asap... 

Can anyone help with this please?

  No one will really be able to help without seeing what the DNS zone looks like.  If you can post a copy (change the domain/IP).

  In the standard cPanel DNS zone template the MX record and mail. point back to the bare domain name.  So if you changed the bare domain name without updating the MX record and mail. record, you pointed everything to SquareSpace.

  Thanks for your answer ! The thing is that I cannot access my cpanel anymore... 

  I did add the CNAME record for squarespace and didn't touch the other DNS registers... So I guessed that the MX records will stay unchanged in cpanel...

  Since your domain no longer points to your cPanel server, you can't go to example.com/cpanel any longer (since that resolves to SquareSpace).  You'll have to check your instructions from your provider as to how to go to cPanel directly on the server.

  If you know the server's public IP you should do this in the DNS Editor:
  change:
  mail.example.com A <your-server-ip>
  and
  example.com MX mail.example.com

  To cPanel you can go with address:
  http://<your-server-ip>/cpanel
