ELevate Centos 7.9 to Alma 8.10 (ea_profile hang)
Hey guys,
I just was doing a simple elevate and it gave me no errors to start, and this isn't an error but it made it hang for over 20 minutes, basically wasting my time.
During the ea profile installation it kept hanging on ea-php82-libc-client. It is in the profiles package list but does not exist on this server. This started at 07:43 and I decided I had enough of this 20 minutes in at 08:03, its now 08:04 as I write this quickly up.
ps aux | grep "ea" located the process
Killed it and headed back to the --log flag, It's swimming through the rest, this was on Step 4 / 5 of the elevation process and I've never seen it before, I reckon It caused some issues post elevation in EA profile and I will just re-upload my EA .json I have always and compile it again but I want the elevation to just finish first.
Just for those who have similar issues and would like to continue the elevation as well you don't want to stay down too long.

It also got stuck for like 12 minutes on Testing RPM transaction so I killed it to let this continue,
I need the elevation to finish, then I can run the UPCP or EA because right now its still stuck in stage 4/5, I know there is a reboot somewhere after all of this so I need this to finish up, its taken nearly 1.5 hours..
Staged all files fine, its a upcp process going now, "Beginning upgrade to mariaDB 10.6" hoping that finishes and doesn't just get stuck as well, been a reidiculous step 4.

After a bit back and forth, had to kill the elevation service that was running and run
/usr/local/cpanel/bin/whmapi1 start_background_mysql_upgrade version=10.6
this ran for a while then I checked upon it using
https://api.docs.cpanel.net/openapi/whm/operation/background_mysql_upgrade_status/
until inprogress became ok status it allowed it to continue and it kept the update going
NOTE: Don't worry if you hang, you can kill that process or kill the elevate service, you can then continue with the --continue switch once you have done the --log and found out where it failed and why, for some reason installing MariaDB didnt work through this for me it just hung but whmapi1 was able to do that for me, so I could continue.
This is 2 hours and counting
Finally it finished and Rebooted into STEP 5 barring nothing goes wrong on this step, I should be out of the woods in the next 10-15 minutes.

Step 5 was a success without a hitch
Allowing me finish the elevation, for some odd reason my elevation hit snags such as php82 and munin and pecl install imagick random stuff that really shouldn't have hung or died on that hill but luckily its post OS upgrade so we're sort of out of the woods anyway, I just need to note down the key things I have to remember
- - Remember to EA Upload and compile your profile in WHM
- - Remember to check on Pecl for imagick for PHP 82
- - Remember to check on Munin
- - Good measure maybe run upcp on force flag once we're up in the air
Besides that, the elevation was a success but took 2hours plus and its a production server (yes I took backup but still you want this to be easy). Elevate on other nodes of mine were a breeeeze..
