Rotation of AWstats and Webalizer stats

Hello,

Today we noticed an account where AWstats had created 3.5 GB of data... It had stored 3 years of data inside it. That's an unnecessary usage of Disk Space.

We'd like to prevent this from happening again by setting a rotation schedule. AWStats and Webalizer should only be able to store data for up to 12 months. On the 13th month, they must rotate and delete the data of the 1st month in order to save the new data.

We searched in "Statistics Software Configuration" and in Tweak Settings but didn't find anything in particular.

What can we do achieve our goal?

    Hey there!  I don't have a ready-made option in the interface to rotate those configuration files.  The best option I have available would be to create a custom logrotate rule for the files in question as outlined in the second half of our article here:

    and direct that toward the log file(s) in question.

    I'm guessing your next follow-up would be "how can I do this for all the log files on the server at once" and that one I don't know - a custom script possibly?  This may be a good item to create a feature request for over at features.cpanel.net or I can submit that for you if you'd like.

    We'll check the rule in question and in the meantime we'll also create a feature request.
