SSL problem in subdomain
Hi friends,
I have a domain with several subdomains:
domain.com
subdomain1.domain.com
subdomain2.domain.com
subdomain3.domain.com
All of them have Let's Encrypt SSL certificates set up correctly through cPanel -> SSL/TLS Status. However, one of these subdomains shows the following alert when trying to access it, which started happening a few days ago:
Warning: Potential security risk ahead
SEC_ERROR_EXPIRED_CERTIFICATE
I can accept the warning and access the site without any problems, but this message indicates that the SSL certificate is not working correctly for this subdomain.
I don't understand why this is happening, as in cPanel -> SSL/TLS Status everything appears to be fine:
(Green icon) AutoSSL Domain Validated
Expires on July 3, 2025. The certificate will renew via AutoSSL.
What could be the problem? How can I fix it?
Thank you very much.

Hey there! These types of issues are often tricky to handle over the Forum, so a ticket may be the better option. I always recommend checking the DNS settings to confirm the domain is actually pointed to the machine where you think it is, as that would cause an SSL mismatch.
If that is correct, have you tried another browser just to confirm there isn't some odd browser cache issue happening?
If so, it's probably best to make a ticket so we can find out what is happening.

Hi cPRex
-The DNS is configured correctly. This domain and its subdomains have been working for years without issues, and we haven’t made any changes.
-I tested it in various browsers.
-If I check more information in my browser, appear this information about the SSL:
Validity
Not before Sat, 23 Nov 2024 11:47:52 GMT
Not after Fri, 21 Feb 2025 11:47:51 GMTThis is the bug because in cPanel -> SSL/TLS Status says: Expires on July 3, 2025. The certificate will renew via AutoSSL.
Have the old SSL date, cPanel don't apply the new SSL.
Remember that this subdomain dont load WordPress or other CMS, this subdomain point to VPS when we have installed cPanel DNSOnly.
Can I regenerate the Let's Encrypt SSL only for this subdomain? I tried from cPanel -> SSL/TLS Status, but it didn’t create a new SSL certificate (it only checked it) because it is already correct.Thank you very much.

There isn't a way to just regenerate the SSL for that specific subdomain. You'd have to delete the certificate and request a new one, which is a perfectly valid troubleshooting method as well.
