How to fix “A DNS entry already exists” when adding a domain in cPanel (Hostico)
I ran into an issue while trying to add a new domain (rulouri-alba.ro) to my cPanel account at Hostico.
When I try to add it as an addon domain, I get this error:
❗ “A DNS entry for rulouri-alba.ro already exists. You must remove this DNS entry from this server or all servers in the DNS cluster to proceed.”
I’ve already checked:
-
Zone Editor – no records found for rulouri-alba.ro
-
Addon Domains – it’s not listed there
-
Aliases / Parked Domains – not available in my cPanel layout
The domain is active and registered in my Hostico account, but it seems like a leftover DNS entry is blocking me from using it properly. I just want to set up a fresh WordPress instance on this domain.

Check your dns cluster; one of the nameservers will have the entry
