email issues php-fpm vrs php-cgi
Hi, currently i am running whm/cpanel version 126.0.16 my server does not get or send many emails so this could have been something that changed with cpanel or configserver, not sure.
All of a sudden i am getting an email from lfd (configserver) for suspicious executable
/usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/php/83/sbin/php-fpm (never before) every time i send a server email from any account or email address. It does also say that the SMTP connection failed, i suspect because lfd blocked it.
I have read that cpanel added some php-fpm functions to email which used to be handled by php-cgi so natually i am curious if this may be the issue.
Personally i would rather continue to use php-cgi unless its manditory now to allow php-fpm.
So before i go over to see what configserver has to say i would like to hear what cpanel has to say. I am assuming i can just add this process to the csf pignore but first i would like cpanel to answer the following please so i am informed from cpanel perspective.
1. Do i need to allow php-fpm on my server, if so where do i check to be sure it is enabled in WHM?
2. If i can still use just strictly php-cgi for everything cpanel, where do i go to set that as default in WHM?
3. Is this a common issue caused by an update to WHM/cPanel ?
Thank you in advance :)
Dave
