Noob Questions About Resellers

    1)  If I set up a reseller account for this new client and we add each of his domains to the reseller account when I run a normal nightly backup is it going to back up his reseller account  for me as one big file and send to my storage or is it going to separate out all of his domains individually like it does for normal accounts?

They are still cPanel accounts (just owned by a reseller, not root).  They back up just like any other cPanel account.

    2) If the reseller wants to run backups of all of his accounts to his own off site storage does he have access to his own version of the root WHM backup system?  So that he can backup everything like I do except only for his domains?  If not what options does he have for backing up his sites?

Resellers can't setup backups.  With stock cPanel (i.e. no JetBackup etc.) you can only have one set of backups setup.

    3) If using a cloudlinux environment do the limits apply to his account as a whole or are each of his domains separate in terms of bandwidth, processor, etc. usage limits?

Bandwidth is a cPanel thing, not a CloudLinux thing.  Each cPanel account can have it's own CloudLinux settings (depends on how you setup your stuff up).  You can expose CloudLinux settings to resellers if you want.

    4) If I am asked to fix something or help him with something on one of his domains can I "list accounts" on his reseller account to see each of his cpanel sub accounts?  Like drill down through his cpanel account in my WHM to only his domains or how does that all work?

Assuming you have root, you can list accounts and you'll see all the account.  You can click on the cPanel icon and enter cPanel for that account etc.

    1) It will be separate accounts as you'd normally see. His reseller account will be listed in the "reseller/owner" column... UNLESS the reseller creates the additional domains as... additional domains in his account :-)

    2) Unfortunately not. It will be same. You could probably do it using JetBackup or the like though.

    3) Limits applies at account level. So the same as for normal accounts

    4) Yes. They will all be visible in the "List Accounts" and you can filter on the "reseller" even.
