In WHM you need to edit the default package. Change the number of add-on domains from one to the number you need, save, and try again. Let me know if that helps.

Ok, i will try to help here - Did you set up custom name servers? For me when. I did this I was able to access domain.com/whm, as well as domain.com:2087 Root works fine for me
