Well, after writing that up, I told myself to just do it right: #3. :) It's a bit more work up front, but I already was able to get DNS Clustering up and running with two namservers and the old web...

HI @PeteS standard profile servers will work fine with DNS cluster and zones will synchronise without any issues you can proceed in this way if needed, no issues it will work perfectly as normal.....
