Although XFS is performing better but I highly recommend using EXT4 for important data and XFS for backups or so. XFS corruption is much more difficult to resolve without losing data.

I couldn't think of anymore ban lists but I guess there are misconfiguration somewhere. Try stopping CSF & cPHulk and get them to try again. If it's still not working try checking for their websi...

You mean that when some account owner login into FTP, he/she can remove backtrace logs from /var/log/messages?

I guess maybe you could get some help in ConfigServer forum as I've faced this issue before and tried to fix it in many ways but never get any luck so turned off alerts.
