Reconfigured how? I have a client with the same issue and I'm unable to see any issues. The client is using the FQDN as the IMAP and SMTP server. What was the setting that was changed?

You wouldn't really want to anyway. If that upgrade fails, you'd lose the server. Far better to get a new server and migrate.
