Actually, no, it isn't fixed. Latest kernel that works for us is 3.10.0-427.36.1.lve1.4.47.el7.x86_64. The most recent 3.10.0-614.10.2.lve1.4.55.el7.x86_64 kernel gives the same 508 error.

Well, we tried setting hard limits, but that just gave us 503 errors instead (we are using Litespeed).

Nothing from cPanel or CloudLinux support since the "escalation". We cannot keep waiting, so we've temporarily reverted to kernel 3.10.0-427.36.1.lve1.4.47.el7.x86_64. That kernel works fine.

Ticket 7616855 It seems that our VPS provider (Linode) uses a Grub2 setup that doesn't match the assumptions made by the security advisor.
