How to configure CyberDuck on MacOS to connect to a cPanel FTP account

Introduction

Whenever possible, it is preferable to use SFTP (Secure FTP) instead of FTP. However if you must use FTP instead of SFTP, you may use this article to configure CyberDuck to connect to cPanel via FTP.

Procedure

NOTE: This guide asks you to use the cPanel username and password for FTP authentication. If you have created a separate FTP account, you may use those credentials instead. Typically there is no need to create an additional FTP user, so you should use your cPanel username and password unless you have a special need for a separate FTP account.

1. Open CyberDuck

2. Click the "Open Connection" button in the upper left corner

3. Enter your domain name, cPanel username, cPanel Password, and then click on the blue Connect button:
