How-To update freshclam

Introduction

Freshclam will automatically update if you have automatic updates for RPMs selected. By default, these updates are active. If you turned them off previous to version 86, and wish to turn them back on, please see the documentation for the /etc/cpupdate.conf file. If your systems administrator has turned off your automatic updates, you may encounter the following message when running freshclam. Freshclam may run automatically as a cron job, in which case, you could get this error as an email message.

ClamAV update process started at [date]
WARNING: Your ClamAV installation is OUTDATED!
WARNING: Local version: 0.xxx.x Recommended version: 0.xxx.x

Procedure

Warning: This command updates ALL your plugins, not just freshclam

To update freshclam, you will need to update all your plugins with the following command:

/usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/bin/whostmgr2 --updateaddons
