How to change the root user's password using WHM

Changing the root user's password regularly can help in ensuring your server stays secure. WHM offers an interface to change this password.

Procedure

1. Log into WHM
2. Navigate to "Change Root Password"
3. Enter a new password or use the Generate feature to create a new one for you.
   • Using a randomly generated password stored in a password manager with a secure password is recommended. The following are third-party password manager options. They are not affiliated with cPanel.
