Question
After migrating to a new server, You may receive an error message like the following when attempting to renew an SSL certificate via AutoSSL:
"The certificate will not renew via AutoSSL because it was not issued via AutoSSL."
The message suggests that the certificate was not issued via AutoSSL, even though it was issued via AutoSSL on the old server.
Answer
In order for AutoSSL to renew an expired SSL certificate, the original certificate needs to have been issued by AutoSSL on the same server.
To force AutoSSL to renew a certificate that was originally created on a different server, you can enable the following option in the Options tab under the Manage AutoSSL page in WHM.
"Allow AutoSSL to replace invalid or expiring non-AutoSSL certificates."
