Introduction
In some instances, cPanel users wish to create a password-less SSH key. By default, this is not allowed in the cPanel SSH Access interface unless the administrator sets the password strength requirements for SSH keys to 0. This article provides the procedure to set the password strength requirement for SSH keys to 0.
Setting the strength of an SSH key's password to 0 reduces its security.
Procedure
- Access the server's command line as the 'root' user via SSH or "Terminal" in WHM.
- Navigate to "WHM Home / Security Center / Password Strength Configuration."
- Move the "SSH Keys:" slider to the left end or enter
0in the "SSH Keys:" textbox. - Click the "Save" button.
