The localhost MySQL profile will not validate

Symptoms

 

You may see a warning like the following in the MySQL Profiles page.

 

Failed to “validate” Remote MySQL profile. 1 error occurred.

Unable to connect to the MySQL host “localhost”. Connection failed with error: 
Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES)

 

Description 

 

This can occur if the localhost MySQL profile becomes out of sync with the MySQL password. This can occur if the root MySQL password is changed outside of WHM/API calls.

 

Workaround

 

The root MySQL password can be updated in the following location of WHM. This will update the localhost MySQL profile.
