Question
What is cPHulk?
Answer
cPHulk guards against Brute-Force attacks on login attempts to services after a connection has been made. cPHulk doesn't operate as a firewall that completely blocks access, but instead as an extra security mechanism that blocks login attempts from listed IP addresses even if the correct authentication is provided.
This can be reviewed and configured within WHM / Security Center / cPHulk Brute Force Protection.
cPhulk monitors the following web servers and services:
- cPanel services (Port 2083).
- WHM services (Port 2087).
- Mail services (Dovecot and Exim).
- The Pure-FTPd service.
- Secure Shell (SSH) access.
