Symptoms
When attempting to install or renew an SSL certificate with AutoSSL, you receive an error similar to one of the following.
Local HTTP DCV error (domain.tld): The system failed to create the temporary file “/home/username/public_html/.well-known/pki-validation/84F995352656B308A530CAC1DE1FD275.txt” because of an error: Disk quota exceeded
WARN Local HTTP DCV error (domain.tld): The system failed to close a file handle because of an error: Disk quota exceeded
Description
For an HTTP DCV check, a text file gets created under the domain's /.well-known/
folder. AutoSSL cannot create the file when an account exceeds its disk quota. Which results in the above error.
Workaround
To correct this issue, the account must have sufficient available disk space. The available disk space can be increased by deleting unneeded files or increasing the account's disk quota.
