Under what conditions does AutoSSL run for a domain or user?

When does AutoSSL process new domains. Can this be triggered manually by an end user or server administrator?

Answer

AutoSSL will process a domain to effect of obtaining and installing an SSL for a domain under a few circumstances. By default you will see automated AutoSSL runs under the following two conditions:

• During Account creation, as well as domain creation, AutoSSL will run for the domains added.
• A root-level Cron job that repeats every 3 hours.

The administrator of the server can also trigger an AutoSSL run for a user or all users, via the WHM Interface path below, where there will be a button for All users as well as a section for each individual user which can be run manually:

"WHM / SSL/TLS / Manage AutoSSL / Manage Users."

The cPanel user can also run AutoSSL for their account within the cPanel interface path:

" cPanel / Security / SSL/TLS Status "
