How to modify your server's "Dormant services"

How do you modify a server's Dormant services?

Answer

By default, certain cPanel-managed services will run dormant. When one of these services is idle for 5 minutes, it will unload itself from the server's memory, leaving a tiny “listening” service in place. Use of the dormant service feature might help reduce memory usage. The following services can be enabled to run dormant:

- cpdavd
- cphulkd
- cpsrvd
- dnsadmin
- spamd

Here is how to manage dormant services:

1. Log in to WHM as the root user
2. Navigate to Home / Server Configuration / Tweak Settings
3. Search for Dormant services (This is found under the Software tab)
4. Check the boxes for all services you wish to run dormant
5. Click the Save button at the bottom of the page
