WHM & cPanel not loading: SSL_ERROR_RX_RECORD_TOO_LONG

Symptoms

When attempting to log into WHM or cPanel, you encounter an error similar to one of the following.

SSL_ERROR_RX_RECORD_TOO_LONG

ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR

Description

The issue occurs when an invalid value has been set for "TLS/SSL Protocols" in "cPanel Web Services Configuration".

Workaround

1. Access the server's command line as the 'root' user via SSH.
2. Move the cpsrvd folder out of the way.

   mv -v /var/cpanel/conf/cpsrvd{,.$(date +%s)}

3. Restart the cpsrvd service.
