Symptoms
The server periodically sends traffic from different IP addresses configured on the server.
Description
The source IP address for any traffic generated on a server will be the IP address on the interface through which the route to the destination is configured.
If a server has multiple default routes configured, the route traffic used will change based on the network conditions of the routes.
If the default route isn't configured with a specific interface, the default route can go through any interface or subinterface with an IP address in the same subnet as the gateway address.
Workaround
Ensure that a single default route is configured on the server and that the default route is configured through a specific interface.
Modifications to the server's default route should be performed by a qualified system administrator, as incorrectly configuring the default route can make the server inaccessible.
