mail.example.com opens website?

Hi all, I have several websites which are indexed also by their mail.domain.ext url imho this is not good for seo as the website should only be indexed on the main domainname, is this normal behavior or can this be fixed somehow or is it some setting?

  This is necessary for AutoSSL to automatically generate a certificate for mail.domain.ext. But I am curious, how do you anticipate this affecting SEO? Are you linking to mail.domain.ext any where?
