Install MariaDB 10.1 on cPanel v70?

So is MariaDB 10.1 not installable on cPanel 70?

  Yea, but 10.1 isn't an option. It'd be nice to keep all of the versions the same. I have a slew of servers that have 10.1 installed. Going to add a new server, and I can't install 10.1. Even though (to my knowledge) MariaDB 10.1 is still in life. Now granted, MariaDB can take some of the 10 million versions they have released and shove them up some where. I'm not a fan of having this, that, and every other version released an in life. Support one or two versions and leave it at that. But that's a rant for another day.

  I see it here. What version of cPanel are you on? Can you post a screenshot of that area, I'm curious to see it on your end.

  Hello @sparek-3, It's by design that MariaDB 10.1 is not an upgrade option if your system is currently using MySQL version 5.7. MySQL version 5.7 is essentially MariaDB 10.2 and thus switching to MariaDB 10.1 is considered a version downgrade. Thank you.

  I suppose my goof was not setting - /root/cpanel_profile/cpanel.config - with mysql-version=10.1 - prior to running the cPanel installer?

  That's correct. If you want to use MariaDB 10.1, you'd create /root/cpanel_profile/cpanel.config and add the following line to it prior to starting the cPanel installation: mysql-version=10.1
