That doesn't really help me, which programs do I have to run? how can I make it to be HIPAA Compliance. Exactly how?

Hello, Guidance or instructions on how to make a server HIPAA compliant isn't something we provide. Due to the legal nature of the topic, it's something that's better addressed with the help of your own legal counsel and/or a system administrator. Thank you.

I'm not sure if shared hosting can be HIPAA compliant. I'm just not sure if the nature of HIPAA compliance is really conducive to shared hosting. Now, perhaps the account in question is on it's own dedicated server not being shared with any other accounts. But it still begs the question, why are the cPanel ports opened and allowed on that server? HIPAA compliance isn't going to be something that you just flip a switch for and you can pass. Shared hosting (even dedicated servers with cPanel) is geared more towards folks that want to put a website up. Typically (and this is not to knock anyone) the ones buying the shared hosting and putting up the website don't have a lot of technical knowledge. This just doesn't speak too highly for real HIPAA compliance to be accomplished in shared hosting.
