cancel dnsonly license

I can't install cpanel on VPS that was used for cpanel dnsonly. I already reinstalled the OS but the IP still licensed as dnsonly. How to cancel the dnsonly license?

  you have to contact cpanel to deactivate dns only license

  The DNSOnly is free on as far as I know.. Did you try installing cPanel directly on the VPS and if so, what error you get?

Perhaps you meant to install latest-dnsonly instead of latest? If not please cancel your DNSONLY license before installing a cPanel & WHM server.

  Can you tell me if the following file is present: /var/cpanel/dnsonly
  If so does removing it, then running /scripts/upcp --force
  allow the license type to be updated? Thanks!

  there is no /var/cpanel/dnsonly since I have already reinstalled the OS.

  I don't think I need a full cpanel license for this IP since I only made VM template with cpanel pre-installed.

  Hi @whplus You'd need a cPanel license to run a server with cPanel installed - either a full or VPS license. We even offer a solo license which might be useful to check out: cPanel Store How to Purchase a cPanel License - cPanel Knowledge Base - cPanel Documentation

  What happened is that you got your server IP registered in the cPanel system as DNS only, so your IP now has no availability of the 15-day free trial license for this IP, so you will need to purchase the license first for the server IP and then proceed with installation..

  Need to contact cPanel CS to remove WHM DNSonly license

   

  Please help me to remove my DNSonly license
