Make sure you are using the correct mail servers, you can get the mail server configuration of outlook from cpanel by going to the cpanel of that website account >> Email accounts >> Access Webmail, scroll down below and you will see the mail servers setting that has to be used while configuring a mail client. Use those settings and things should work fine.

Thank you for the quick reply. However that wasn't the issue. So a couple of things that I have tried since I made the post last night.
    • checked via canyouseeme.org if they can see the ports open and it says it does.
    • had turned back on where can connect via regular ports and still didn't work.
    • tried instead of using the mail.mydomain.com (I used my actual domain) I tried the IP address.
    • tried the servers domain instead

Hi @DemonMaestro 1. Have you tried the mail client configurator at cPanel>>Email>>Email Accounts>>Manage - it's also sent to the email address upon creation. 2. Have you confirmed that the user/ip isn't blocked in cPhulk? Thanks!

My ip isn't blocked. If it was then I wouldn't be able to access the WHM. :-p I had tried the "Mail Client configurator" however Outlook 2019 doesn't store anything in that folder of the "Registry".

I don't have a way to know whether or not you can log in to WHM so I have to ask :) 1. What ports are you using for incoming/outgoing 2. what are you entering for username? Thanks!

I've tried 143(non ssl) 993(ssl)/25(non ssl) 465 (ssl) and the full email address as the username.

Is your failure on the incoming or outgoing (SMTP) side? You might try port 587 for outgoing if that's where the failure lies.

So far its the incoming side.

HI @DemonMaestro Your hosting provider should be able to troubleshoot your connection and help you set it up. It sounds like either the password really is incorrect or you're not able to properly connect over standard mail ports. I'd ensure you check any antivirus locally as well. Thanks!

I own the server and no ports are blocked with the ISP. I am going to check with Outlook 2016 and see if it will work with that. I'll keep yaw posted.

Okay, here is an update. Outlook 2016. All works with SSL/TLS. Sends and Receives. Outlook 2019. Can send. Will NOT receive. (Outlook sends a "test" email). Soooooo still trying to figure out WHY...:confused::confused:

Update. Apparently there is an issue with the ""New"" "Add Account" dialog thing. Here is the fix.:-D
    • Go to File
    • Info
    • Account Settings
    • Manage Profiles (This will open "Mail Setup - Outlook" dialog box)
    • Email Accounts (This will open "Account Settings" dialog box)
    • Click on New (Under the "Email" tab. This will open the "Add Account" dialog box)
    • Click on "Manual setup or additional server types" radio button (Circle thing)
    • Click on Next
    • Click on "POP or IMAP" radio button (Circle thing)
    • Click on Next
    • Fill out details provided by your provider/server.
Took awhile to find the old way to add accounts but hopefully this will help some people out.

I've seen the up to date versions of outlook do some sort of auto config. Of the times I've used the auto config, I've never got it to work. When the auto config runs, all you add is maybe your email address and password, Outlook supposedly does the rest. I have always had to resort to doing it the old fashioned way.

In order for autodiscover/autoconfig to work you need to have it set up on your cPanel server first. AutoConfig and Autodiscover - cPanel Knowledge Base - cPanel Documentation talks about this.
