Restored imap folder, items missing.

I inadvertantly deleted an IMAP folder from a users mailbox, not to worry, I have a backup from last week. So I restored home/user/mail/domain/account and the particular imap folder. I can subscribe to this folder, but it's showing as empty, even though I can see the half doizen os so emails in the cur folder via FTP. I guess I restored the wrong folder ? Any ideas how I get these emails back .

  I figured this out. When I restored the folder, I did so as the root user. FTP using the user account and now the emails are accessible.
