Changed cPanel password, FTP Password change has been queued

I'm trying to reset the FTP password of one of our accounts. I bring up List accounts in WHM. I expand the account. Do the change password thing and I get that message. It "queued" the ftp password change. The password is not changed and I still cannot FTP into the account. Why is it "queuing" the password change? Why wont it just do it? And for how long is this queued for? Is it going to be done in 5 minutes? 10 minutes? an hour? a day? a week? a month? a year? That message is a virtual slap in my face and an insult to my intelligence. I want the FTP password changed NOW. Not when you feel like getting around to it. So can someone please explain to me what is going on here and how to force it to happen now, and not when it feels like it?

  Whats the Task Queue monitor look like in the WHM? If you changed the main accounts password already you can try running /scripts/ftpupdate to resync the passwords

  This is so funny! I just had this FTP queue thing happen again and I googled it forgetting this post ever existed and this come up so I'm reading it and by the end I'm like "Hell yeah man! This guys reads exactly like how I sound!" /checks username of OP and realizes it's past me from 6 years ago..../ lol.

  So yeah, still queuing FTP password changes for some odd reason  after all this time. Then not showing the queued task in the WHM task panel (empty) but still not having the FTP password change until I manually run /scripts/ftpupdate from a root shell.

  Whats up with that?

  This isn't even the same server from back then. That was a CentOS box, this is a CloudLinux8 box.

  Ha!  That's pretty awesome!  I know I often run into my old posts and think "hey, this kinda sounds familiar" and then I see the username............

  Do you see anything in the main cPanel log at /usr/local/cpanel/logs/error_log around the time you made the password change?  That's always the first place I check for any weirdness so I'd start there.
