KernelCare Update
Hi,
I keep receiving emails when the kernelcare update cron job runs. The cron job is trying to run: -
"/usr/bin/kcarectl -- auto-update"
I'm getting the error 'substring not found'
This is the free version of kernelcare but I've never come across this error before. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks - Peter

Hello @Peter Smith Can you run the following on your server and let me know the output? kcarectl --patch-info
Can you also let me know the kernel version you're currently running?0 -
Hi @cPanelLauren kcarectl --set-patch-type free --update
showsNo patches applied, but some are available, run 'kcarectl --update'.
runningkcarectl --update
showsDownloading updates substring not found
My kernel version is 3.10.0-693.11.6.el7.centos.plus.x86_640 -
Hi @Peter Smith That's not exactly what I had asked to run but I think it still answers my question. If you're only trying to run the kernelcare symlink protection patch this isn't compatible with the kernel you have installed. KernelCare's symlink protection (free ) patch is ONLY compatible with stock the stock CentOS kernel, in your case you're running a CentOS plus kernel. Thanks! 0 -

Should it be removed? How would it be removed?0 -
