Unsure how to modify website

Hello, So I'm involved in a new project where I have access to a website previously created and run through cPanel. I have (very) limited web building experience and generally use platforms that allow me to easily change visuals - like Wix (not Wix, but same idea). I also have purchased domains and web hosting, and have installed wordpress as the CMS, and operate them that way. Because we've inherited this website, I'm not sure how the previous owners did everything. And I've looked around for a while but I cannot find any type of CMS. Is it possible that any edit that was done would be through the File Manager, or another area? That this will require coding knowledge? I see a Wordpress Application manager, but "no compatible word press sites exist on this account." No other applications are installed. I apologize if I worded anything poorly, or it's an obvious answer. But to a beginner, it's a bit overwhelming. Any input is appreciated - Thank you

  Hello @rpbay05 It's possible they weren't using a CMS system or one that wasn't wordpress (such as Drupal or Joomla) - if there's no CMS then all edits and modifications would need to be done manually and that most likely would require coding knowledge. Without more information though we wouldn't be able to tell you how this is set up.

  Before the advent of online CMS we would web design 'old school' You would have a web design program on your local PC, which acted like your CMS. Something like DreamWeaver or CoffeeCup. I personally liked MS Frontpage, it wasn't the best but could achieve decent results with ease. When you were happy with the final design, you would upload the whole web structure to your public_html folder using FTP. It's quite possible that your web site was designed this way. Maybe for starters, I'd be tempted to download the public_html folder to your local PC using ftp, and then open a few html files with something like windows notepad, to see if there are any clues as to which application was used to create them. If you've no HTML coding experience, then you might find it rather difficult.
