Hello @ksechrist, You can enable "This message contains HTML" when editing the message body in cPanel >> Autoresponders. Here's an example of how you can format the body to use HTML for line breaks: Sincerely,

Let me know if this helps. Additionally, you included a reference to version 76:cpanel 76.0.18
cPanel & WHM version 76 reached end-of-life status in April 2019: Reminder: cPanel & WHM Version 76 now EOL | cPanel Newsroom I recommend updating to a supported cPanel & WHM version at your earliest convenience. Thank you.0 -
Thank you for the response Michael. I'm aware of v76 EOL. I have one old app that I'm trying to upgrade before moving to v78. But does that have anything to do with the carriage return problem? I've also noticed similar issues in webmail signatures but I haven't tested yet to see exactly what it's doing. I know html and figure I can fix this for MYSELF... but my users DON'T know html - should I teach them html so they can send properly formatted autoresponses? Doesn't seem right. 0 -
FWIW this issue (incorrectly displaying plain text line breaks) persists in cPanel v 100.0.2. I don't see clients having to write HTML as a solution. 0 -

To confirm, does this happen with any autoresponder or email? When are you seeing this issue occur?0 -

I'm seeing this with all autoresponders. My email client is Thunderbird. It has 3 possible "view message body as" settings: Original HTML Simple HTML Plain text The autoresponder email received appears the same for all 3 of those settings. I've attached a couple of screenshots.0 -

Hello again. My sincerest apologies for letting this fall through the cracks. I will make sure this is looked into. 0 -
@kamm - I'm doing some additional testing with this now and I'll let you know what I find soon. 0 -
I tested this with Gmail and Yahoo on my end and I couldn't reproduce the problem. Inside cPanel, I configured the Auto Responder to look like this, using plain text: First line One carriage return Two carriage returns
and that's how I am seeing it in both of those webmail clients. I then performed the same test in Thunderbird and that is working well for me also. I've attached a screenshot showing the results there, as well as how the Auto Responder is configured inside the cPanel interface.0 -
Hi @cPRex - sorry for the huge delay - I must have missed the notification from your last post. I've just done a few tests and in Gmail and Roundcube the line breaks are parsed correctly, but in Thunderbird I continue to see double line breaks, so perhaps it's something specific with my TB set-up  Anyway many thanks for running those tests! 0 -
That's so odd - I wish I had some more details but I'm just not able to reproduce that in Thunderbird on my end. 0 -
Just FYI, this is still an issue. I'm testing with Outlook as it is what 90% of the business world uses.

Michael Yaeger - if you can reproduce this, can you submit a ticket?

cPRex I can and have reproduced this. I can start a new ticket.
