Auto mount backup location on restoration
I'm using "Mount Backup Drive as Needed", but when I want to do a restoration in WHM, the drive isn't automatically mounted. I need to manually mount the drive to proceed.
I think this is a case where the drive should be automatically mounted, since it's needed for restoration. Also, when the clients enter their backup section on cPanel accounts, because of this, they have the impression that no backups are being made.
Am I doing something wrong?

Backups are running fine, they mount and unmount the drive correctly. I"m talking about restoration, not backing up. Considering normal behavior, should WHM automatically mount the backup drive when the backup restoration section is accessed? 0 -
Hello @Netcrusher, Thanks for clarifying. The Mount Backup Drive as Needed option in WHM >> Backup Configuration is applicable to the backup process only. It's not applicable to the restore process, and no functionality currently exists to automatically mount a drive prior to a restore action. I recommend creating a feature request for this functionality via our 0 -
Hello @Netcrusher, Can you try now and let me know of any additional issues? Thanks! 0 -
@cPanelMichael, There has been some evolution on this functionality ? I also use the backup via NFS and I use the "Mount Backup Drive as Needed" option and in the restoration I need to manually mount it and then go to WHM. Let me know if a feature request was created so I can vote and follow up... 0 -
@dialhost - can you let me know what behavior you are looking for on the system? This thread is a few years old, and Michael won't be replying at this point. 0
