Alias domains: This site is not secure error
Hi all!
I have several domains (www.example.com, www.example.net, www.example.info).
Only one of them has has installed SSL certificate.
I would like to set up all the others( www.example.net, www.example.info) to redirect or be an alias to the main one (www.example.com).
When I do that in cPanel i get a warning message in every browser: "This site is not secure."
Do you have any ideas how I can resolve that? I would like all alias or redirects to work without displaying a security warning to the user.
Thank you for your help!
Best regards,
Martin

What's the redirect you're setting up specifically. 0 -
I would like whenever people write: www.example.net to be redirected to www.example.com. Right now that doesn't work, because www.example.net doesn't have SSL certificate, so when one types it in the browser, a warning comes up that Your connection is not private 0 -
Can you not do this at registra level ? 0 -
Hi keat63, not sure what you mean (my knowledge on the topics isn"t that deep, yet). I contacted my hosting provider and they said I would need a wildcard certificate to cover the 2 domains. i believe there should be a more cost-effective option ;) 0 -
I purchase my domain names through 123-reg, but I host my server elsewhere. 123-reg give me a control panel where I can modofy things like DNS and name servers etc. This also gives me the ability to handle rediects, or domain transfers to other people etc. If I put a redirect at this level, there would be no requirements for certificates. 0
