Rec'd SyntaxError: Unexpected token < in JSON at position 0 during restoration
I used the backup wizard to create restoration files before attempting a version upgrade to Opencart. Unfortunately the upgrade left me with numerous error messages in the header. No problem, I'll just restore things, research the errors a bit and try again. Wrong. The db restoration went fine, but when I tried to restore the Home Directory I rec'd this - SyntaxError: Unexpected token < in JSON at position 0.
I managed to restore things after hours of uploading files and folders. I'd like to continue my attempt at the upgrade, but really don't want to go thru what I just did.
I am clueless as to what the issue is or if it's even cPanel related, but any insight regarding this issue would be greatly appreciated.
cPanel v86.0.21
Operating system: Linux

Are you aware if your provider has any customizations in the cPanel UI? I'd suggest contacting them in regard to this issue as you won't have the access necessary to investigate it further. 0 -
The hosting package is for a Managed Services - Gen3 VPS at Godaddy. I have no idea what's going on with that, but last time I contacted them for what I thought was a server issue, they pretty much told me the server was my problem. So, I have no idea regarding customizations, I will try to find out though. What access do I need to aid in tracking down my issue? 0 -
Ok so you have root access to the server? Your profile here indicates that you don't have root access. I do want to note that managed services indicates that you're paying for support with the server but that's something you should take up with them. Have you implemented any customizations on the WHM side? Is anything in relation to that error output in /usr/local/cpanel/logs/error_log0 -
Hello! I have the same issue after I reinstalled my VPS (upgraded from CentOS 6 to CentOS 7). I did a backup before and now I can`t restore it. here is the /usr/local/cpanel/logs/error_log

My files apparently restored but none of my websites works, Crome gives this error: This site can"t be reached Check if there is a typo in xxxx.xxx DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN0 -
Sorry to hear about your issues with the restore. None of the output you provided indicates an error as all those lines say "info" which is just giving you updates on what the server was doing at that time. The second message you provided seems like there is a DNS error on the domain that is keeping the browser from being able to connect. You'll want to check the DNS for the domain(s) to resolve that issue. 0
