Backup - taking too long

Hi guys, I have a server with this configuration: Disk 1TB Memory 12GB CPU Architecture: x86_64 CPU(s): 16 The total backup in space is 360GB. Backup configuration: uncompressed The backup is taking too long to finish. and never follow a termination pattern. The end times are very different. the backup starts every day at 5:50 PM backup day 16/06 - finished day 17/06 1:53 PM backup day 17/06 - finished day 18/06 4:04 PM backup day 18/06 - finished day 19/06 7:36 PM backup day 20/06 - finished day 21/06 1:44 PM backup day 21/06 - finished day 22/06 3:17 PM How can i fix?   Hi @fernando-sianet, You could change the backup configuration to compressed or incremental so the backup doesn't take so long to finish. For more information, go to Backup Configuration | cPanel & WHM Documentation

  Do you just have 1 1TB drive? Is this a SSD or spindle based disks? Is there any RAID in use? How many files are there in this 360GB? 360GB with 300 files is one thing. 360GB with 300 million files is another thing.

  Good point @sparek-3 - A lot of times your backup might not be huge but it contains a ton of files, mail is pretty notorious for this.

  Hi Fernando, As the other ones are pointing out, it would be nice to know how your backup configuration you like. Do yo use incremental backups? JetBackup? What kind of storage are you backing up to? I'd highly recommend using incremental backups or JetBackup and to backup to remote rsync storage for extra safety.
